Returns

Our policy lasts 30 days from the date of purchase. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. 

Exchanges/Returns/Cancellations

For regular returns or cancellations, you will be responsible for paying a 10% restocking fee in addition to the shipping costs for returning your order. 

For exchanges, you will be responsible for paying a 15% restocking fee in addition to the shipping costs for returning your order. 

For quality promise returns (where the item is defective or unsatisfactory in quality), no restocking fee will be applied. However, you will still be responsible for return shipping costs, unless the product is damaged on arrival.

If you refuse to take delivery of your order (for reasons other than damage) and the product is returned to us, we will consider this an order cancellation and charge you the applicable restocking and shipping fees. 

We recommend that you inspect your order before taking delivery. In the rare event that your item arrives damaged, please refuse delivery and inform us immediately. A full refund or immediate replacement will be shipped as soon as we receive proof of damage. 

Please use the original packaging for returning your order.

Here are the steps for processing a return: 

  1. Contact us, and we will work with you to coordinate return shipping (your order must be repackaged securely in its original packaging to be returned). 
  2. Allow us time to receive the order and evaluate your request.
  3. If your order meets the return eligibility, the requested refund or exchange will be approved and processed accordingly.  

Refunds

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment. A 10% restocking fee and return shipping costs will be deducted from your refund, unless the return is due to damage, in which case you'll be entitled to a 100% refund.

Our Quality Promise

We take pride in the craftsmanship and presentation of our products. If you receive a coffin and are not completely satisfied with its quality, you're covered by our Quality Promise. You may return the unused item for a full refund, provided the following conditions are met:

  • The coffin must be unused, in its original condition, and repackaged securely in the original packaging (or equivalent).

  • Returns must be started and repackaged within 4 days (96 hours) of delivery.

  • Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is damaged or faulty upon arrival.

Please note: Our Quality Promise does not cover returns where the product has been used, damaged through mishandling, or altered in any way after delivery. Minor variations in timber grain, finish, or handmade details are considered part of the natural character of the product and not faults.

To request a return under this policy, please contact us at support@noblecoffin.co.nz with your order number and a brief explanation of your concern. We may request photos to help us process your return efficiently.

Delivery Requests and Changes

Unless otherwise specified by Noble Coffin or agreed upon by both parties, orders are delivered within 1-5 working days for North Island addresses and 2-7 working days for South Island addresses. Greater Auckland addresses will usually receive orders by the next working day (please confirm if your address is eligible). Note that delays due to unforeseen circumstances rarely occur, and we do not guarantee delivery timelines. 

We contact your chosen funeral home to confirm delivery details and arrange the handover for a time suitable to each party. Note that once your order is shipped, we cannot delay its delivery. In the (exceedingly rare) case that your order is undeliverable to the selected address, it will be considered a cancellation and applicable shipping and restocking fees will apply. 

In case you discover the selected address won’t be able to receive the order, please contact us, and we’ll be happy to redirect the order to the correct address.
